In early 2007,
Araquém Alcântara
publishes two new books about two different
rainforest
biomes in
Brazil:
•
A Grande Floresta
/ (The Great Forest) about the
Amazon and
• Mar De Dentro / (The Inner Sea)
about the
Atlantic Rainforest.
"Mar De Dentro" is the name given to the Estuarine Lagoon Complex that stretches along the coastline
from northern Paraná to southern
São Paulo.
This region represents the largest continuous remnants of Atlantic Rainforest in Brazil
and is part of the so - called
Southeast Reserves,
a designated UNESCO
World Heritage
Site since 1999. The book was realized with the help of
SPVS,
an environmental NGO in the state of Paraná.
