Travel & Tours / Brazil - The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) seeks to encourage the identification, protection and preservation of World Heritage Sites around the world considered to be of outstanding value to humanity.

Brazil has actually 17 properties inscribed on the World Heritage List (10 cultural sites and 7 natural sites). Four of the seven natural sites are included in the biome of the Atlantic Rainforest / (Mata Atlântica):

               • Atlantic Forest South-East Reserves,
               • Discovery Coast Atlantic Forest Reserves,
               • Foz do Iguaçu National Park and
               • Fernando de Noronha and Atol das Rocas Reserves.
