Brazil Travel & Tours - The Southeast (
Sudeste), one of the five
Brazilian travel
regions
is composed by the states of Minas Gerais,
São Paulo,
Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo.
With an area of approximately 930.000 sqkm, which corresponds to 11% of the national territory, this region is about two times the size of Spain.
Compared to the other regions, the Southeast contains the largest quantity of native
Atlantic
Rainforest
/ (
Mata Atlântica),
of which about 1,2 million hectars are
integral protected by 75
conservation units.
The southeast region is a great eco tour destination for travelers who are interested in outdoor activities in coastal mountainous rainforest
ecosystems.
