South

The South (Sul), one of the five Brazilian Regions is composed of the states Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul.

With an area of 575.000 sqkm, which corresponds to 7% of the national territory, this region is a little larger than France.

After the Southeast region, the South contains the second largest quantity of native Atlantic Rainforest / (Mata Atlântica), of which about 900.000 hectars are integral protected by 67 conservation units.
