With just one road on the continental side of the island, most locations on Ilhabela can only be reached by boat or by trails. About 25 rainforest trails are located in the submontane and montane altitudinal zone between sea level and 1.300 height meters with walking times between 1 and 6 hours. They take you to mountain peaks, about 20 waterfalls and natural pools and more than 40 deserted and semi - deserted beaches (see guided tours).
