Curitiba is a
medium level,
combined hiking / trekking & mountain bike tour through the
conservation units
of the Atlantic
Rainforest
Southeast Reserves
World Heritage Site
in the states of
São Paulo and
Paraná
(see itinerary and
route map).
The first part of the tour follows the coast line, crossing the pioneer formation and tropical rainforest ecosystems of the Estuarine - Lagoon Complex Iguape - Cananéia - Paranaguá, including Juréia-Itatins, Ilha do Cardoso, Superagüi and Marumbi. |

The second part is dedicated to the
Speleological Province
Upper Ribeira Valley /
Paranapiacaba, including the
state parks of
PETAR,
Intervales and
Carlos Botelho which
expose the largest number of karst caves in
Brazil.
