
Brazil / Travel & Tours - Piçinguaba, formerly a private ranch (
fazenda), became part of
Serra do Mar
State Park in 1979.
It is the only park section that contains beaches,
mangrove and
restinga vegetation.
With a size of
47.500 hectares, it comprises the largest part of
Ubatuba.
Its headquarter is located in the extreme northeast of
São Paulo State,
at
praia da fazenda, close to the traditional fishing village of Piçinguaba.
Its main
ecotouristic attractions are waterfalls and pools,
historical rainforest trails, mountain viewpoints,
a
Guarani
Indian population at
Boa Vista do Sertão do Prumirim,
caiçara
and
quilombola communities
such as some
colonial constructions.
