São Paulo – Rio de Janeiro I is a medium to advanced level mountain bike tour through the Atlantic Rainforest reserves of the Serra do Mar mountain chain. Compared to tour 1 it is more mountainous and requires an good to very good physical condition in order to complete average daily distances of 60 km on unpaved roads, with constant ups and downs and under tropical climate conditions.
