Rainforest Flora

Brazil Tours / Flora - Hippeastrum aulicum ("horseman's star") is one of the approximately 80 herbaceous bulbous South American plant species which, in Brazil, occurr in the altitude fields ecosystem of the Atlantic Rainforest biome, in the Mar / Mantiqueira mountain chains.

The genus Hippeastrum belongs to the Amaryllidaceae family, in the Asparagales order.
