Adventure Travel / Brazil - Atlantic Forest or better Atlantic Rainforest is the English translation for Mata Atlântica which occurs in South, Southeast and Northeast Brazil. Particularly for trekking / hiking & mountain biking, it is presently one of the most exciting eco travel & tour destinations in Brazil.

While most people limit this term to Brazil's dense evergreen coastal rainforest, Mata Atlântica in reality is a complex terrestrial biome. It is composed of pioneer formations and lowland rainforest along the coast, submontane, montane and high montane tropical and seasonal rainforest, growing on the slopes of the Mar / Mantiqueira - mountain system such as campos de altitude in the higher elevations.
