Brazil Tours / Diversity - Alluvial vegetation (floresta ombrófila / estacional aluvial) occurs azonal (height - independent) along rivers and streams such as temporarly or permanently flooded freshwater areas (várzea) of the pioneer formation (e.g. Caxetal) and tropical / seasonal rainforest ecosystems. It is often referred to as "riparian" or "gallery" rainforest.
